Conclusion
Although there has been some controversy about immigration, we can safely say that it has helped shape our country for the better. Without immigration, our nation wouldn’t be as culturally diverse. We wouldn’t be able to fully enhance different cultures and enjoy traditions and traits that immigrants have brought over with them. Immigrants have brought over innovative ideas and have also added insight to how we can help America’s economy. Some argue that immigrants took over American jobs, but this is not entirely true. Daniel Griswold (2002) argues that immigrants did not push Americans out of their jobs, but rather filled in and took jobs that Americans didn’t want or were unwilling to take.
Immigrants also raise the supply and demand for goods which helps the American economy. They have also developed new technology such as the “Java computer language” which has created jobs for everyone. (Griswold, 2002). In conclusion, America wouldn’t be the way it is now without immigration. Immigration has definitely shaped the United States as a whole.
